Wednesday, 24 October 2018: Puebla

Our alarm was set for 3:30 and we were on the road by 4:40am for the ten hour drive to Puebla. We know that we are not supposed to drive at night but somehow driving in the morning seems better than driving at night.

After driving for a couple of hours we stopped at a truck stop type place fir our first breakfast in Mexico. The ladies were very accommodating and our breakfast was delicious. Justin had huevos Mexicana and I had huevos revueltos con jamon (scrambled with ham). It was a rather smooth ease into Mexican food.

The scenery was beautiful once we got out of the mist and fog... once it finally stopped raining!  And, we needed sunglasses — finally.  At one point today the thermometer actually read 77’.
We were just shot by the time we got to our hotel — Villa Magnolias.  We’d stayed here twice before so that sense of familiarity was welcome.  I thought I’d cry if I had to get back in the car so we opted for pizza delivery. We ordered the large, “enorme” and two salads so we knew we’d have leftovers for tomorrow.
We might want to add a kitchen something like this
in the owner's quarters.
