Tuesday, 30 October 2018: Mérida

We headed into Merida to buy mattresses to run other errands and to meet with Alanso at 1:00pm to sign the papers.  We stopped by a few mattress places before we made our final decision at Super Calchones. Four king sized mattresses will be delivered on Saturday, the same day Lea and her friend arrive.

At our visit with Alanso we learned that Anthony Achach can help us with the hoops we need to jump through for immigrations as well as our (required) Mexican wills. After a couple of hours of listening to explanations and signing, we were the official owners!  Paperwork still must be completed to move the domicile from Playa Del Carmen to Merida and we still want to change the name of the corporation but It is ours and Bijan is done.

Our favorite hotel in Mérida, Hotel Reforma, was totally booked so I did some quick research to find Casa Carmita Hotel & Spa Calle 53 No. 515A x 62 y 64 Merida, YUC 97000 Mexico.
It is in a great location, in our budget and pet friendly.  While I checked in and got us settled, Justin parked the car and took Gemma for a walk. He learned that she was allowed to enter La Negrita, our favorite Latin music place, so I met them there to begin our celebration. (We also made a connection for musicians to come to our house in January for Justin's not-birthday party.)  Next stop, our favorite Yucatan restaurant, La Chaya Maya.  I bought a new little Mexican top from one of the girls outside; this one has lots of people on it who are representative if the people who will cone to our guest house.  It is really ours!

We fed all the animals before we left.  Dogs and cats alike were very eager for Justin to dish up the vittles!
