Saturday, 25 November 2017: Yelapa

Called Expedia to see about support.  We need a truck to tow us out.  They offered two hundred dollars but we said no since we felt like we needed to see what was what with car repair before we settled.

Justin talked to Julia and Omar; they had walked back to the cars earlier in the morning to learn that all was safe.  Yes, I had visions of our windshield being smashed in and tire and wheels stolen.  They had decided to basically abandon their rental car.  What happens when you abandon a rental car?  Guess they are fixin' to find out.  We continued our conversations with Expedia and with the hotel and went to breakfast where we ran into Camilo, local guy on the beach with iguanas.  Also the same guy who offered Justin some pot.  But of course he knew a guy with a "three ton truck".  He told us the price of 3,000 MXP and after a bit of negotiation, we gave him a deposit of 500MXP with the agreement that we'd meet him back at the restaurant in an hour.  We started walking to the car at about 1:15 with Camilo (but no iguanas).  When we reached the car, the guy with the 4x4 Jeep was waiting.  Not exactly a three ton truck,  but it was promising nonetheless.  We started driving at 2:30 and reached the town of  Chacala about 5:15.  Time to say thanks to the guy in the Jeep...other than moral support, which was huge, he didn't really do much.  He didn't have a chain and we weren't able to connect the rope.  Justin, my adoring husband drove our car all the way out of that mess.  A couple of days ago he had started calling our car "La Perla", "The Pearl."  Today she earned her name as a true gem.  We had agreed to drive Camilo into Puerto Vallarta as his payment.  He showed us the way to the water taxi in Boco de Tomitlan.
We left our car there, said farewell to our new friend and jumped on the water taxi to go back to Yalepa for the night.   Gemma freaked.  She thought she hated the car.  That was until she got on a boat the pounded across the water.  She really was cute with her head tucked under Justin's arm.  We checked into our hotel and headed for dinner breathing a nice deep cleansing breath for the first time in a couple of days.  Neither Justin or I slept at all last night; we headed to bed thoroughly exhausted.
