Monday, 27 November 2017: Guadalajara

Gemma and I went downstairs and outside for a short walk and got to breakfast before Justin.  We met Pat and Chris who are the new owners of Hotel LaFe.  They are from Canada and recently purchased the boutique hotel.  The building that was built in the 1930's has been divided into seven separate rooms.  They sold their house, bought a brand new Peugeot SUV, got a cargo carrier for the top, piled in everything they owned, themselves, two border collies and their cat into the SUV and drove for ten days to get to Guadalajara. They are looking for an apartment now as they are getting settled into their new lives.
Our conversations included dogs and pet friendly hotels, buying property in Mexico, car travel in Mexico, the updates and marketing they plan for LaFe, my perceptions of the hotel and a dozen other topics as we shared the breakfast that was included.  Pat and Chris own a condo in Puerta Vallarta that is listed on AirBnB.  I must check into that should we decide we want to return there in the spring.

Lorayne introduced us to the Hotel Des Carmes in Paris.  Now I have a favorite hotel in Guadalajara too.  We've stayed in some great hotels and we've stayed in some rooms I'd rather forget.  This place is great!

I really like this idea for a headboard.  It wouldn't work on
Bay Shore but perhaps another house, another time?
