Monday, 23 January 2017: San Miguel de Allende

Up at the crack of 10:00am.  Justin and I headed for breakfast at La Arco, our neighborhood rooftop breakfast restaurant.  Gemma can go here too so it is a great convenience for us.  I had chilequitas con huevos and as good as it was, I still want to copy the bastardized "eggchilladas" we had in South Padre Island.

We ran into Evaresto on the way back from breakfast.  He has received the down payment from the new owner of our condo.  The gentleman from Belguim wanted to look at the property once again so we tidied up enough for him to visit.  We told Evaresto that we would leave on Friday by noon.  No, this time we will not extend any more.  Justin and I thought we'd be on the beach long before now but our time here has been great.

Our tire was promised to be fixed and returned by noon.  Mike and Justin collected the car and we learned that while the tire had been repaired, the sensor was not.  Since we paid over $50 for this service, we will need to follow up

We headed to the ruins.  Halfway out of town, as I was programming the GPS, we learned that the ruins are closed on Mondays.  Rerouting, we headed to Delores Hidalgo.  The town, very prominent in Mexican Independence, is today, the Boleslawiec of Mexico.  (These Mexican dishes will look great with other dishes from Poland and from Japan!)Known for its ceramics and for shipping goods throughout Latin American and the United States, we spent a few hours strolling through shops and thinking about what we might want to purchase.
The plan today is that we'd come back through Delores Hidalgo after we go to the Yucatan and Belize.  We might be interested in a few larger pieces that we don't want to cart around in the back of the car for the next two months.

After a refreshing beverage, a very blue margarita, in a local venue we headed back home to SMA.  The chili was great with the salt on the rim, but the concoction was very, very, blue.
