We docked about 9am in Chau Doc and said farewell to our new friends. Thankfully, luckily, our hotel room was ready for check in. We got settled in our new digs at the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel and spent some time out by the pool. When it was time to explore, we found a much smaller but bustling port city. Rather than eating at our hotel, we were looking for a local, more authentic spot for dinner. Instead, we found a dentist. I’ve had a toothache for a couple of days. I’ve been talking to my dentists both in Green Bay and in Mexico for about two years about pulling the tooth and getting an implant. Today, was the day. And yes, I had a tooth pulled in a fishing village in Vietnam. Cost: 500,000VDN — less than $20 plus about $3 for antibiotics, pain meds and Omeprazole to prevent upset stomach.
Justin got me home and tucked me into bed before ordering carbonara from room service. He really wants some traditional Pho, but not tonight.
