Monday, 8 December 2025: flight to Phuket

Up at 4:15 to catch kickoff for the Packers/Bears showdown.  Packers came out on top which means they’ve cinched the division. 

Breakfast, nap, finish packing and we were ready to leave our hotel at 1pm for the airport. The Pierre Hotel has been a great base for the past week. Great location, breakfast is included, the staff is very accommodating— all in all, I like Siem Reap and I’d come right back to this hotel any time.  Plus, the gentleman at the desk is called Tola. Anything that reminds us of Miss Tola is a good thing right?  Kim is in California helping care for her parents. My heart hurts for her. She’s so fortunate to have had them both for so long, but now the days are challenging. I hope she stays strong. 

Easy van shuttle to the airport that is about an hour away. Best $20 I’ve spent lately. 

Quick flight to Phuket and then taxi to our new hotel, the MGN Condotel.  They pride themselves on contactless check-in. And as it turned out the entire visit was contactless and that’s ok too.
