Tuesday, 12 November 2019: Merida

Veterans Day found us back in Merida at Casa Carmita.  Gotta love three-day weekends -- no matter where you are.  Before we left, we looked at condos at PLaya May, but no, not now.  Roger and Chris were very accommodating and helpful, but no.

Rather than honoring our Veteran's the marketing ploy here is Singles Day 11-11.  We headed to Liverpool to look for a couch.  Instead, we came home having bought a set of dishes (16 each dinner plates, salad plates and bowls) as a frig for the grand cocina.  We've bought three refrigerators in the past two years. One for Brussels and two for Casa Colibri.  Last week I bought a voltage regulator that will protect us against the spikes; apparently the dips are bad enough but it is the spikes that fry your frig.

We bought two terracotta pieces that we envisioned as the light fixtures to complete the yoke in our sala.  We knew these would be so, so perfect.  [Unfortunately, only one made it home intact.  Now we've got a really cool something, but only one of them.]

We went to Boston's to watch the game and I worked on our listing with Booking.com listing.  When I got to the end of process, I was told they'd send a letter to my, via snail mail, to our Celestun address.  Well, that won't work.

Today, we ran errands, of course.  I picked up the distilled water I'd ordered -- check mark in the box -- while Justin went to radiology to get ready to complete the next step of his dental implants.  We had brunch at a great little find and of course, we got more keys.  The best part of the day was picking up Mimi.  She'll be with us for a short week before she goes to Playa del Carmen for her daughter's wedding.  Then back to us until early December.
