It’s St Patrick’s day and our biggest concern today isn’t green beer or even beer at all. Instead, our day started with a phone call from son Michael telling of the flooding that is going on in Green Bay. We talked to Rich and Erica, renter in our Hartung house, to learn that the water did come up to the posts of the deck but the basement was dry. All the work Justin did several years ago when he took on the remodel have paid off. Later we learned that although Lloyd and Gloria were evacuated from the home next door, after they got out of the boat, they crossed the street and went back to their house. Perhaps the rescue squad was more worried about Lloyd’s fragile state rather that the fact that his house was fine. Still, it is all quite disconcerting from so far away.

We enjoyed some cochinita pupil for dinner. Last time we had this local dish in a restaurant it was a bit too dry, but buying it from a street vendor ... it was delicious!!!
