Wednesday, 30 August 2017: North East Wisconsin

We started our day with breakfast at April's.  Now all the family except Mandy has had the Brussel's Countryside Diner experience.  Back to our house for Mike and Eli to load things up before we headed to Bay Beach.  Justin and I stopped to pick up Jonas and Caleb so they could have a bit more time with their cousin and one last trip to Bay Beach as the summer winds down.  We got in three rides before the rain storm got us.  Mike and Eli got on the road to head home while the rest of us headed to Smart Cow for a tasty frozen yogurt treat.

This summer storm was quite a doozie.  It has been a very wet summer here in Green Bay.  The rainfall for the first seven months of the year has surpassed the typical annual rainfall for the past few years.  The rainfall along with mild temperatures has made for luscious green farm fields and very high water in the lakes.  We've had quite a bit of erosion in our preserve and our breakwall is in jeopardy.  We have no beach per se and the waves continue to pound the shore.  We will need to wait a few years until the water recedes to see just what we need to do to repair and prevent further damage.
