Sunday, 29 October 2017: 1429 N Bayshore Rd

Here we go!  After a long day that was really five days long we are on the road.
After serving as a storage unit and then as
a workshop, the garage is finally ready to
be a garage.  Enter one  boat and the EOS and
Justin will batten down the hatches for the winter.

Neither one of us had ever shut down a house for the winter so some of it was rather by the seat of our pants.  I cleaned out the frig and freezer and turned off the gas.  Justin knew exactly what to do with preparing boats and the yard.  The EOS went into the garage with the battery disconnected.  Next-door neighbor Don and previous-owner Steve helped with advice on blowing out the water lines.  We built some make-shift shutters and will remake those when we get back in the spring. For now, we truly "lock and  leave."

Gemma knew that something was up and wanting to make sure she didn't miss anything, she spent most of the day nestled in the leaves next to the car.   At least until it was time to go.  We had to hunt all over for her at the eleventh hour.  I guess she needed out last tour around the property before she left.

At 9:00pm and with 55,580.7 miles on the odometer, we filled our water bottles and headed south.
