Thursday, 15 November 2018: Mérida

I love our new little hotel.  We thought we might have a little more time to explore so I checked but Hotel Reforma was fully booked again. Back at Casa Carmita we got our same room, #6, right off the courtyard.  Coffee wasn’t quite ready when I ventured out so she brought it to our room.  How perfect is that!

After a delightful and super filling breakfast buffet I headed to have a mani/pedi while Justin roamed around through some of the shops before he tried to catch up on phone calls and reading.  One of his stops was Casa Azul where we have shopped before.  We went back there together in the early afternoon.  I took note of some prices for reference later.

We found better prices at the yellow house across the street.  They are still part of the same co-op but have lower overhead.  Kim bought some cute little ceramic geckos from this shop when she was here.  We ended up buying one bedspread and shams for our bed.  We will call Sarah when we are ready to buy four more.

4,500

1600 for pillows.

4,800 marked down to 4,600 today

5,000 for silk

Later in the afternoon we found some very cool light fixtures that are like some of the ones we have around the courtyard.  A few are broken and when we are ready for replacements we will know where to come

Light fixtures. MXP. 450.

Near where we parked on our first trip to Merida  at Calle 47 between 60 and Paseo Montejo.

We also went to La Perla Del Sur on Robbie’s recommendation.  As soon as we were there we realized we’d been here before and we totally struck out as we were looking for giant lampshades and ceramic fixtures for the yoke light in the living room.  The search continues.

Boston’s has become our favorite place to watch football and since the Packers were playing Seattle... and we just happened to be in town ... no coincidence here.
