We got up early-ish this morning and explored a bit in our neighborhood. We ended up having a coffee and a sweet roll for breakfast on our way back to our hotel. At 11am we met Luis from Yucatan Vacation Car Rentals. He delivered our rental car. As soon as the papers were signed, we were on our way! Since Justin doesn’t have his driver’s license, I am the only legal driver.
Ok, on to Celestun, this time for real.
Abraham met us at the gate as did all the dogs. Haven’t found the need to count the cats or look for the pig yet, but the dogs were great. They all remembered us... and Gemma.
We got the car mostly unloaded and were able to get to the beach in time for sunset.
We hadn’t told anyone when we were arriving. Mostly because we didn’t really know when we would arrive with the need to get a car and all. Plus, we though it prudent to maximize the element of surprise. Both Justin and I were a bit disappointed in some things around the house but then, compared to how things might have been, we are incredibly fortunate.
