Thursday, 8 March 2018: Yucatan

On the road to Merida.  Our first stop was the Kia dealership.  We'd noticed some damage (vandalism?) to the gaskets on the windows on  the driver's side previously, but a few days ago, the back door handle fell off in Justin's hand!  Not acceptable on the car that barely has 5,000 miles!!!

Of course they didn't have the part and apparently they can't order the parts and have then sent to a dealership, say in Puebla.

I am not sure as to the next step here, but we were bound for Alanso's to sign the papers!

I filled out the papers to get money out of TSP thinking we could get those notarized while we were there.  Unfortunately, their notary was out sick so they sent us around the corner to another notary but he too was out  and wouldn't be back until close to 5pm.  We didn't want to wait that long so I'll need to follow up on that later (but soon).

Alanso scanned and forwarded the papers to Bijan.  Even with the time difference, he signed and we had them back within a few hours.
Yes, we have a signed contract!!!

Stops by Sam's, Home Depot, and Walmart for critical items such as cat food, rice and pasta for the animals, toilet paper, trash bags, paint for gate, ladder, etc.  I took pictures of refrigerators, air conditioners, towels, sheets , dog food... you name it.  Next year we will be buying it all.  Do we bring sheets and towels from the states?  Where do we buy it here?  I am used to having access from Amazon and other retailers who ship.  None of that here!

We took time for a great Italian food lunch at Piccolo.
Justin had a seafood dish and I opted for carbanara.  Yummy!

We were back to Celestun in time for sunset at Peter's.
