Saturday, 24 February 2018: Celestun

Justin was awake too early so the first words I heard this morning were "wanna join me for a walk on the beach?"  How can a girl refuse?  We went for a long walk toward the north.  This really is a beautiful place!

We had an appointment at 11:00 to see a house across the street just a bit to the south. The house was built on the wrong land so neither the house nor the land can be sold.  We looked at the upstairs apartment to see about renting from Lazarus who lives in Miami. Sandra would be the go between.  "Dumbo", the local DJ who lives downstairs was playing loud music when we arrived.   It would be a nice enough apartment but the music?  we will keep it in mind.

In to Peter's for breakfast.  Ric invited Carol to join us.  Peter has a large group coming in next week and he has contracted for three meals each day.  He'll be closed to the public so today was our last chance for breakfast at his restaurant.
After our feast, Carol joined us for a walk through at Dan's  She had never seen the house and was pleasantly surprised particularly at the size of the lot.  There was no need to underscore the need for lots of TLC.

Dinner at El Palmar. Guac, nachos and beans.  Yummo!  This restaurant has been our backup plan throughout the winter.  When we are not interested in cooking or eating at home and when you just can't stand fresh fish one more evening, or, since the restaurants on the beach close just after sunset, when it is too late, we head to El Palmar.  We can sit outside on the square.  There are often other festivities going on in town but it is always interesting just to watch the people.
