Saturday, 24 June 2023: Tahiti Village, Las Vegas, Nevada

Our day started before before 7am this morning and found us on the road headed to Mt Whitney portal.  Bit first the Alabama Hills.

Once we arrived at Mt. Whitney, Justin and I did our version of hiking. Justin did his part to help a fledgling pine tree   We had a nice talk with the lady at the general store. She had a basket of FREE fresh apricots that enticed us to chat even more.  The stop was phenomenal!

Stunning!  Magnificent!         Breathtaking!  All fail to convey.

We met a little cockapoo from Chicago. Her humans said their goal was to have her visit all 50 states. Gemma won’t make that goal, but she has been to 17 countries. So far…

Next stop Death Valley.

No question how it got its name. We were able to use our lifetime pass to national parks. The highest temp we saw was 108’. That’s hot enough for me.  I need to research the history of Twenty Mule Team Borax

Final stop for today was the Tahiti Village Resort in Vegas.

The hotel is at the far end of the strip.  Several years ago when Dellene and Pam and I were here, we stayed at the Mandalay Bay which was then the end.  Of course there is more now.  This place is partly time share and partly hotel and family oriented.  Justin and I roamed around a bit before we settled in for the evening and a big glass of wine.
