Thursday, 26 September 2019: Niagara Falls, Ontario

We started our morning watching House Subcommittee hearings -- or actually the questioning of the acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Maguire, as a result of delaying the reporting of the whistleblower report.  I have mixed emotions about all this as it makes me very sad.

After our short drive to Niagara Falls we had a fabulous Italian lunch at Cousin Vinnie's.  We shared steamed mussels, a Caesar salad, a charcutier board, and seafood risotto.  I recently made risotto for the first time.  I wanted to see if mine stood up.  Oh yes!  I did a good job.

I checked into our Hilton and sent our stuff up with the bellman.  We didn't go up yet though.  Instead, we wandered and explored in our new neighborhood.

We went on a tour behind the falls.  It was great but, admittedly, the best thing we saw a guy asking his girl to marry him.  Too cool!

Justin found a local sports bar, Shoeless Joe's, and we headed there for dinner and the Packer game.  It was a hurtful loss.  What is pass interference anyway?  Seems to me that the NFL needs to figure it out just like last year they needed to figure out what exactly constituted a tackle.

Our room was perfect.  We had floor to celling windows with panoramic views of both the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
The only thing wrong is that Gemma isn’t legal here.
We did find that it was much cheaper to park at the casino than at the hotel and since they are linked with a gerbil trail, we were in a great position to be able to sneak Gemma in and out.  Justin always feels guilty when we stuff her into a small black duffle-like bag.  But I feel guilty when we leave her in the car.
