Saturday, 26 February 2022: Celestún

Abraham’s father died.  He’s been estranged from his dad for several years, but it still makes for a bummer of a day.  I drove him to Tetiz so he could be with his family quicker than if he’d needed to take the bus.

Still no water!  I worry that it is something we need to fix and not rely on the city, but both Abraham and Ivan say we are ok.  OK, but without water.  Bill bought water and heated it up outside in the sun for his shower.  Justin and I made do with water from the tanacos.  I can’t wash dishes so I guess we will eat out — darn.  While we were at breakfast at Peter’s we saw Noel from football at Boston’s.  He’s really a Bears fan but we like him anyway.  He had friends visiting from New York and they were enjoying the day at the beach.

I spent the afternoon trying to visit with Bill while packing.  Additionally, our wills are drafted. Now we need to hand-write a portion before we get back from Mexico City.

We drew a close to our day with a progressive dinner.  First stop at LaPalapa and then El Chivarico with after dinner drinks at Patsy’s.  Tricy home so Bill could have that experience.  Great last night in Celestún with Bill.
