Wednesday, 21 July 2021: Shoemaker Point and Milwaukee

It was a red letter day for our family today.  We closed on the property at Shoemaker Point at 10:00am.  Justin and I own one-third, Jordan and Kris own one-third and Erich owns one third of the 5.18 acre plot that is adjacent to the 1.5 acres Kris and Jordan already own.  This new property has just a bit over 100' feet of shoreline.   Lots of plans are being discussed and I am pretty much staying out of it.  I hope that this can be part of the legacy that Justin can leave for his sons.  I have stated to all who will listen that if either of us gets sick or dies, all bets are off.

Justin and I seem to be making a practice of leaving town right after we close on property so today we left Green Bay to head immediately to Brussels where we met with Rick, one of the new owners of 1429 North Bayshore.  Although closing is set for 14 August he and his realtor, Wes, wanted to walk around and take measurements.  He was an architect and he seems very excited and interested in his new property.

Thankfully, Erich loaded up his van with a load of our treasurers to take back to Hartung before we were all on to Milwaukee.   Our goal was to be back in time for Brody's baseball game.

Dinner at Hale's Corner followed.  It was sad to leave our sweet Gemma but we knew she'd be fine with Erich and his kids.  We don’t really know when we are coming back and that's kind of weird but then, it does involve Stephen.  After Kim's wedding on Saturday, we Monday we will fly to Reno and the we may drive a car and a boat back to Green Bay or we may fly back from there.  We just don’t know yet as the plans are written in the clouds and the sand.

We got an Uber and checked into our airport hotel knowing that we needed to sleep fast since we had a wake up call at 4:15 for our early flight to LAX.
