Saturday, 4 September 2021: The Garden at Hartung

Justin told me there was a surprise in the garden. Garden?  We have a garden?  I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the tomatoes from beside the driveway but I haven’t been to the garden down by the river since before we went to California.  I guessed cantaloupe but the surprise was eggplant!  And it looks like there are more to come.   Meanwhile our lone sunflower is bursting.  It makes me smile just to look at it!

The rest of the US had a three day weekend.  Now, we ask, what is a weekend?  There once was a time when all travel and exploring was centered around three-day weekends that I could stretch into four days.  This time, where did we go?  We went to Two Rivers to look at a boat -- about two hours away.  Justin has been looking at other boats but I want us to have something that is rather turn-key.  He has enough projects.  We will keep looking.

In the rest of the world... the most restrictive abortion laws ever were just passed in Texas.  Where is the Supreme Court?  Where is Roe v. Wade?  aargh

The war in Afghanistan ends after 20 years.  Thousands are evacuated.  Yet another immigration crisis looms.

Hurricane Ida made landfall on the Louisiana coast of the 16th anniversary of Katrina.

Justin and Stephen continue their conversations about getting into Canada to work on the Cross and going to Wales to get the Command Ten.
