Wednesday, 9 January 2019: Merida

 We dropped the car off at Kia rather early this morning for an oil change and servicing.  We then called Uber and headed to Liverpool to order our oven.  Since the mall didn’t open until 11am, we had some down time to wait for things to open.  Watching the storekeepers clean windows and straighten stock reminded Justin of his retail days.

We took photos of all the stuff in the back of the car when we dropped it off at Kia.  Will it all be there when we return?

Later in the afternoon we Ubered it back to Kia to pick up our car and head to the airport.  

Mimi at La Negrita

Mimi arrived today.  We were so excited to be able to go to pick her up.  We met Mimi when we were in Germany and we did a bit of travelling together then.  One weekend, we found ourselves in London together with tickets to see the exact same show, Wicked, at the exact same performance!  Later, she joined us when we were in Wales.  Now, she is semi-retired and based out of Athens, Georgia.  We are planning a trip to Cuba next December so we know she'll come back then.  She’ll be here for a week this trip -- but tonight we were in Merida.  After a quick rest at our hotel, we took time for a bit of tourist shopping as we walked to El Negrita.  As always, the music was fantastic.  What a perfect way to introduce her to our slice of paradise.

I found a cool yoke in an antique store but I passed on the purchase.
