Tuesday, 15 January 2019: Merida

We started our day with breakfast at El Lobo.  Then Justin and I needed to divide and conquer.  I went with Peter to pay our annual property taxes and to pay for water for the year.  We also wanted to get our license to be a guest house but they said we needed to do that separately.

Meanwhile, Justin met with the folks that came to measure for granite.  We’d planned to leave shortly after that.  In walked Soms, in walked Ivan, and then, in walked Don Carlos.

I'm sure Mimi thought she’d never get any shopping time in Merida as that was the plan for the day.

We talked to all the workers and got things lined up and we were off.  Robbie had told me about a dishes store on Technological that I hadn’t been to yet so that was our first stop with Mimi. I was looking for plates but instead I found a fabulous large blue and white platter. Mimi hit pay-dirt with two sinks.  She is redoing her bathroom in Athens, Georgia and she thinks these are the real deal.  It is risky, but oh, so worth it.

After a bit more shopping we were ready for dinner at one of our Merida favorites, Chaya Maya.

A sink for our bathroom?

As we knew she would be, Mimi was a delightful guest.  We didn’t do too much and she appeared to have enjoyed her down time.  She promises to come back next winter in November.
