Monday, 26 June 2106: 1429 N Bayshore Road

In preparation to paint the countertop, we pulled out the kitchen sink.  The Epoxy King got to work on repairing the broken laminate.  We also pulled out the range and vent-a-hood.
We will be eating out for the next few days as the range is not scheduled to be delivered until next Thursday.

We continued pulling vinyl -- today in the front room and kitchen.  This is a beast of a chore!  No easy one step removal here.  Since the product separates, step one is to pull up the vinyl and then step two is to remove the residual adhesive.  You can almost see where large pools of adhesive were poured for installation back in 1978.  Justin worked like a Trojan and at times the vinyl seemed to be winning.  We worked with razor blades, scapers, and chisels.  Lots of elbow grease and more than a few colorful expletives later we had to call it a day.  We headed to bed about 1am with the promise/threat that tomorrow there will be no more vinyl in the kitchen.
