Wednesday, 7 January 2025: last full day in Luang Prabang

Our first cultural event for the day was a small photographic exhibition in one of the temples.  Monks and nuns in their daily life… some of the pics were from as early as the 1920’s.  Sombering.

The second cultural foray for today was the temple near our house.  We saw the influx of Chinese visitors up close and personally here.  Thankfully, the temple made up for that.  Wat Xieng Thong is a Buddhist temple built in 1559.  It is still considered one of the most important of Lao monasteries.

Dinner and sunset at The Belle Rive.  Restaurant on the river with great food, great service, fabulous views… they even had lap blankets since there was a chill in the evening … everything we needed for a lovely evening.
