At the border. Yes, we thought we’d be in Celestun by now but no, we are still at the border. We left Austin on Friday and on Saturday we learned that we couldn’t get the Temporary Import Permit for our car. And, since it’s the weekend, we were stuck. We knew that our car had a branded title but, I guess we didn’t really know exactly what that meant. Or, in actuality, we didn’t know what that means to Mexico. There would have been no problem in all of the US or going into Canada, but Mexico, lots of problems. It seems they interpret all branded titles as salvaged vehicles. Mexico is very protective of their automotive industry; I get that they don’t want us to take cars into Mexico to sell for parts or to sell to locals. Trust me, that’s not my plan with this vehicle. Aargh!!!
The last color of fall in Wisconsin: white. Erich sent a picture of his backyard and asked us if we wanted to go home. Oh goodness no!
