Monday, 23 October 2023: Dallas

Somewhere as we were packing I realized my passport had expired.  Yes, I did this ten years ago when I was going to Chicago to meet Justin for the first time.  Well, 10 years later, my passport expired again.  I made an appointment in Dallas for next Tuesday.  OMG!!!!

We watched the Packers fall to the Broncos in Little Rock before we spent the night in Texarkana.  I had my staples removed as we pulled into Dallas.  I knew I needed to get that done before I saw Dellene as she’d probably need to faint with just hearing the story. 

We enjoyed dinner at Smoky Rose BBQ.  It was rather an upscale restaurant rather than a BBQ joint.  We started to leave thinking it would not be “traditional” but we stayed and we weren’t disappointed.  I particularly enjoyed my drink — The Back Porch. A grown up lemonade — Lemon vodka with infusion of cucumber and jalapeños— yum!
