Wednesday, 11 April 2018: Port Aransas

The reason we returned to Rockport was to pick up boat parts for Stephen, to get his truck and get them all to him in New Orleans.   He'd ordered new rigging, stations, etc for the boat and had it shipped to Rockport.  The mast is being readied in Charleston.  One more trip to Our Family Kitchen for brunch as we waited around to see it the rest of the boat parts would be delivered.
We tracked down Stephen’s truck back when the boat had originally been docked and loaded up the stuff that was in so far.
I drove the truck to New Orleans.  There was no AC and that was a beast at the beginning of the trip.  Later, I learned there were no dash lights.  And, it drove like a truck. What did I expect?

We pulled into New Orleans and went to Pontchartrain Landing to drop off the truck. Upon arrival, we met “Mall Cop” Leo who directed us to where to park the car.  Why we didn't just park beside the boat I'll never know, but Leo needed to do his job.  With lights flashing at 1 am, he led us to long-term parking.  Goodness!

Finally, into the French Quarter to our hotel. We booked through Hotwire

The filter for "pet friendly" fell off somewhere before the actual time to book so after a bit of a walk around our new neighborhood taking in the wandering tourists and locals, we snuck Gemma upstairs.  We talked about going upstairs to the rooftop deck to watch the sunrise, but then we thought better of it.
