Saturday, 7 April 2018: on board the "Flipped Out" in New Orleans at Pontchartrain Landing

After eleven days on the boat for Justin and nine for me, we moved our gear off the Flipped Out.  It is still snowing and it is still too cold in Wisconsin to go home. If the forecast holds for the next few days, they will have gotten over 25” within ten days.  Yes, this late in the season.  We are looking at going to the National Poodle Specialty.  We talked about this last year but it didn’t work out for us.  Maybe this year?

But first ... We were in New Orleans!  The Marina has a shuttle that goes into town.  We needed to pick up our rental car so we hopped on the shuttle.  What was supposed to be a 30-40 minute walk took us a three or four hours since we took our time strolling through the French Quarter up Canal Street.  I knew I had arrived when I had a Bloody Mary in one hand and beignets in the other.   I knew we'd be back since today we needed to head to Alvin to see Uncle Harold and Charlsy.

At about 2.5 acres, Jackson Square is almost the same size
as the property at Casa Maria.
