We are actually here.
After mechanical difficulties, plane changes, blah, blah, we actually arrived and our luggage too! El Dia de los Muertos (and street closures) was in full swing Saturday night as our cab tried in vain to get us to our hotel. Ultimately, we ended up walking cobblestone streets about 2 blocks with 6 months worth of luggage. After dropping off luggage in our room, we ventured out to join in albeit late. We headed to what we refer to as Gemma’s Park but locals and Google Maps label as Parque Santa Ana. We enjoyed a quick snack along with our people watching. Next time we'll plan to arrange to arrive a day earlier to better enjoy the event.
“American breakfast” at Los Aluxes hotel. Just like at Denny’s right?
From Justin — A good reminder that "America" stretches nearly from pole to pole and encompasses myriad climates, cultures, and cuisines, something of which a certain part of America chooses to remain not-so-blissfully ignorant about.
We went to one of our favorite haunts, Boston’s, to watch the Packers fall to Carolina Panthers. So sad. Even more sad than the loss is the ACL injury for Tucker Kraft. He’s out for the year and that is bad news.
Next stop, China Casa, for strange and wonderful things but no sandals for Justin.
