Sunday, 14 April 2024: Outside New Orleans

We left our Gemma with Jordan and his family and flew to New Orleans to meet Steven for the next adventure.  I think we were at home for three days before we were on the road.  After a quick trip to Costco and of course, a trip to The Joint for BBQ, we headed to the boat.  Mouse Trap.  This was the boat the Steven, Barbie and their kids lived on for several years.  Steven bought the boat again, twenty years later and we are repositioning her from Kentucky Lake to Chocowinity.

Last minute provisioning of fuel and other necessities had us departing at 1:50 pm, We tooled down the canal toward the inter coastal waterway.  This 35’ x 20’ catamaran weighs 6,000 lbs.   As much of a challenge as that would have been, todays challenge was to get passed the bridge.  We started contacting the bridge at 3:05pm.  Steven had stories of waiting for several hours but then, what did we see but that the bridge was open. What a deal!  No waiting at all!

We stopped at 9:33 at Horn Island.  A good day.

Meanwhile in Celestun, Cesa is without her brother Soxx but she wont be having any puppies of her own.  Laura and Abraham took care of business.  She is recovering nicely.
