Yesterday we were up at at it early. At 5:56am we were on our way.
Dinner at a fun beach diner in Perdico Key right at the Florida/Alabama border.
Ric’s surgery was today in Green Bay. All went well and we should have a roommate well on his way toward healing by the time we return.
When I woke up to see that the sun was up but we weren’t moving I knew something was amiss. We’d run aground over night. After Steven took a quick plunge in the water, all was fine and we were underway at 7:00am.
We’ll actually all wasn’t fine since we created a bit of an oil slick during the night. The engine wasn’t cooperating so after a quick sail out of the intercostal waterway into the gulf, just so we could say we did it, we ducked into a cove and dropped anchor. While Steven did his assessment we were treated to swimming with dolphins and an air show. The Blue Angels were flying out of Pensacola; no, they weren’t really practicing but having the fly overs reminded me of the adage “the sound of freedom.”
